1. Two ways to sell
Quizzz offers two payout methods. Which one applies to a sale is fixed when the student starts checkout for that order, and the seller shown at checkout and on the receipt is the seller for that sale. Changing your payout method later never moves an existing order to a different seller.
- Mode A — Stripe Connect. You sell directly to the student through your own Stripe account. You are the seller. Quizzz provides the storefront and checkout and takes a platform fee.
- Mode B — sold by TechTransLab. TechTransLab sells your content or lessons to the student under the licence in section 2 and is the seller (merchant of record). You are the author or instructor and receive a royalty from TechTransLab. Mode B is offered only to eligible teachers, currently individuals in Taiwan, after platform review.
2. Licence to TechTransLab (Mode B)
For each item you make available through Mode B, you grant TechTransLab a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-bearing licence to host, reproduce, display, distribute, sell, sublicense to buyers for their personal use, and promote that item, and to make technical changes needed to deliver it (for example format conversion or translation of interface text). For live or scheduled lessons, you agree to deliver the lesson that TechTransLab sold, and TechTransLab sells access to it.
New sales of an item stop when you unlist it or this agreement ends. After that, the licence survives solely as needed to fulfil purchases already paid for, for the access period shown at checkout, and to handle refunds and disputes on them; no new sales are made. Your obligation to deliver lessons already booked also survives, unless TechTransLab cancels them and gives the buyer the applicable remedy. If content must be removed because it is unlawful or infringing, TechTransLab may remove it and give buyers a remedy under the Refund Policy instead of continued access. You keep ownership of your content. TechTransLab does not acquire copyright in your content.
3. Prices and platform fees
You set the price of each listing within the limits shown in Quizzz. The platform fee is a percentage of the price the buyer pays for the order:
- Mode A: standard rates start at 10% per sale.
- Mode B: standard rates start at 15% per sale.
A lower promotional rate may apply to some accounts or sales. The rate that applies is the one shown to you in Quizzz at the time of the sale, and each order keeps the fee rate recorded when it was paid. We will give you at least {{FEE_NOTICE_DAYS}} days' notice before raising a rate for new sales.
Your Mode B royalty for an order is the amount the buyer paid for it multiplied by (1 − the fee rate recorded for that order). Example: for an NT$1,000 order at 15%, the platform fee is NT$150 and your royalty is NT$850.
Payment processing fees: in Mode A, Stripe charges its fees to your Stripe account under your agreement with Stripe. In Mode B, TechTransLab bears Stripe processing fees and Wise transfer fees; they are not deducted from your royalty.
4. Payouts (Mode B)
TechTransLab pays your royalties monthly through Wise to the bank account verified during payout setup. Payouts are calculated and paid in New Taiwan dollars (TWD).
- A royalty becomes eligible for payout 30 days after the purchase, provided the buyer's payment has settled to TechTransLab and no hold under this section applies.
- Eligible royalties are paid in the monthly payout run on the 15th of each month, Taiwan time (Asia/Taipei). If the 15th is a weekend or a public holiday in Taiwan, the run takes place on the next business day. On that date we initiate the transfer; when it arrives depends on Wise and your bank.
- We pay when your eligible balance is at least NT$1,000. A smaller balance rolls forward to the next monthly payout.
- If a sale is paid in a currency other than TWD (for example USD), the royalty is converted to TWD at the Bank of Taiwan (臺灣銀行) published spot selling rate (即期賣出) for that currency on the payout date.
- We may hold a payout while we review a suspected fraud, an open dispute, a breach of these terms, or a legal request. We hold only the amount reasonably needed for that risk, tell you why unless the law does not allow it, review the hold at each monthly payout run, and release it when the reason ends.
- If a transfer fails or is returned, the amount goes back to your balance and is paid in a later payout after you update your bank details.
If you think a payout or deduction is wrong, contact us; we will review it and correct any error. In Mode A, Stripe pays you under your own Stripe agreement and schedule; TechTransLab does not hold those funds.
5. Taxes
You are responsible for your own income taxes and for any registration, filing or reporting that applies to you, in both modes. In Mode A, you are also responsible for any sales tax, VAT or similar tax on your sales, except any tax that TechTransLab must collect or remit by law. In Mode B, TechTransLab, as seller, is responsible for any sales tax or VAT it must collect on the sale to the buyer. We may ask you for tax information and may withhold or delay payouts where the law requires it.
6. Refunds, cancellations and disputes
Mode B: TechTransLab handles buyer support, refund requests and card disputes under the published Refund Policy. Students request a refund in Quizzz from the purchase receipt, or by email; TechTransLab staff review each request and decide, and a decision is final once made. You do not decide refunds on Mode B sales.
When TechTransLab refunds a buyer, the platform fee on the refunded part is reversed in proportion, so your royalty for that order goes down by the refunded amount multiplied by (1 − the recorded fee rate). Example: on the NT$1,000 order above, a NT$200 refund reduces your royalty by NT$170, from NT$850 to NT$680; a full refund reduces it to NT$0. Total deductions for an order never exceed the royalty credited for it, and a reversed refund restores the deduction. A refund that TechTransLab staff record as caused by a platform error is not deducted from your royalty: TechTransLab bears it. When a lesson pack is refunded in part, the refund follows the pro-rata rule in the Refund Policy.
TechTransLab handles and initially bears Mode B card disputes. While a dispute is open, the royalty for that order may be held under section 4. If the dispute is finally lost, the royalty for the disputed amount is reversed in the same way as a refund, with credit for any amount already reversed for the same order. A won dispute restores any deduction and releases the hold. Stripe's dispute fee is borne by TechTransLab and is never deducted from your royalty or balance, whether the dispute is won or lost.
If a deduction relates to a royalty already paid out, it is offset against your future earnings. If deductions exceed your balance, the shortfall is carried forward as a negative balance and offset against later earnings.
Mode A: you are the seller and you are responsible for refunds, cancellations and disputes on your sales, through your Stripe account, consistent with the Quizzz booking and cancellation settings you choose. Stripe charges dispute fees to your Stripe account.
7. Your content and your promises
You promise that:
- you own your content or have all rights needed to grant the licence in section 2;
- your content does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, and does not include exam papers, textbooks or other material you are not allowed to sell;
- your listing describes the content and lessons accurately, including level, length and what the buyer receives;
- you will deliver scheduled lessons that were sold, or tell the student and Quizzz support promptly if you cannot;
- you will follow the Quizzz Terms of Service and the rules for content shown in Quizzz.
You are responsible for checking content that you create with AI features before you sell it. You agree to cover TechTransLab's reasonable losses and costs from a claim that your content breaks these promises.
8. Listings, review and removal
We may review, refuse, unpublish or remove a listing, or pause Marketplace access, if we reasonably believe it breaks these terms, the law, or a third party's rights, or if a payment provider requires it. We will tell you the reason where we can. TechTransLab stays responsible to Mode B buyers for their purchases even if your listing or account is suspended.
9. Ending this agreement
You may stop selling at any time by unpublishing your listings and, for Mode A, disconnecting your Stripe account. We may end this agreement or suspend payouts if you seriously or repeatedly break it. After it ends: no new sales are made; section 2 continues for purchases already paid for; refunds and disputes on past sales are still deducted under section 6; and we pay your remaining eligible balance, even if it is below NT$1,000, within 60 days after this agreement ends, unless a hold under section 4 applies. Royalties on sales that become eligible after that date are paid in the first monthly payout after they become eligible.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Seller Terms. Each version has a version id, and each order keeps the version that applied when it was paid. When a new version becomes current, you must accept it before you start payout setup or publish a new listing. Your existing published listings stay on sale while you review it. If you do not accept, you may stop selling under section 9.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, the limitations of liability and disclaimers in the Quizzz Terms of Service apply to the Marketplace.
